Headline in the news today

so the headline I see first thing this morning

"Consumer confidence at all time low"

Well no shit because all the press does is tell the masses the apocalypse is upon them.
Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy.
If the press actually focused on the good instead, maybe the problems would be a whole lot
less severe.

I have ignored my adoring public for too long

So what has been going on in my life you ask?

Let me tell you

About a month back I had an an epiphany, if I did not get my life and diet under control I was headed for health consequences.

First was the diet, dropped all soda, dairy, junk food and wheat products.
What is left to eat you say, meat, vegetables and loads of fruit.
The only concessions I have is grape juice and 70% cacao chocolate in small quantities.

My weight at the start of this was 220 and right now it is still 220 but everyone is saying i look leaner.

That brings me too the training bit.

It would seem I have processed a whole pile of non-contractile mass too contractile mass hence the leaner look. Fine by me, sveltier looking is always better.

Every morning I gleefully(sarcasm) spring from under the duvet to embrace the barbell that lives in the living room.

2 exercises every morning, standing shoulder presses followed by narrow stance deep squats.

Seriously by back, hip and knees have never felt better, when I was squatting twice a week my back and hips complained incessantly, the increased volume is doing wonder for the lumbars , booya.

Oddly enough I am getting stronger in the climbing gym even though I have been climbing less, gotta love that cross over effect.

Been massaging 7 days a week, clients call, I work on them, breaks up the day.

So there you go, my live in a thousand words or less, life has a little lest lustre since I stopped drinking slupees but being a little less butterball like is a fair trade off.

I turn my face to the sky
To scream at the gods
A bird shit in my eye

If you are down and out
And someone is peeing on you
Look at the bright side
At least they cannot kick you whilst they
are holding onto their units

ah yes from the good old shop days

TOOLS EXPLAINED

DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted project which you had carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it.

WIRE WHEEL: Cleans paint off bolts and then throws them somewhere
under the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprints
and hard-earned calluses from fingers in about the time it takes you
to say, 'Oh sh -- '

ELECTRIC HAND DRILL: Normally used for spinning pop rivets in their
holes until you die of old age.

SKILL SAW: A portable cutting tool used to make studs too short.

PLIERS: Used to round off bolt heads. Sometimes used in the creation
of blood-blisters.

BELT SANDER: An electric sanding tool commonly used to convert minor
touch-up jobs into major refinishing jobs.

HACKSAW: One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija board principle. It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable motion, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes.

VISE-GRIPS: Generally used after pliers to completely round off bolt
heads. If nothing else is available, they can also be used to transfer
intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.

OXYACETYLENE TORCH: Used almost entirely for lighting various
flammable objects in your shop on fire. Also handy for igniting the grease inside the wheel hub out of which you want to remove a bearing race.

TABLE SAW: A large stationary power tool commonly used to launch wood
projectiles for testing wall integrity.

HYDRAULIC FLOOR JACK: Used for lowering an automobile to the ground
after you have installed your new brake shoes, trapping the jack handle firmly under the bumper.

BAND SAW: A large stationary power saw primarily used by most shops
to cut good aluminum sheet into smaller pieces that more easily fit
into the trash can after you cut on the inside of the line instead of the outside edge.

TWO-TON ENGINE HOIST: A tool for testing the maximum tensile strength
of everything you forgot to disconnect.

PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER: Normally used to stab the vacuum seals under
lids or for opening old-style paper-and-tin oil cans and splashing oil
on your shirt; but can also be used, as the name implies, to strip out
Phillips screw heads.

STRAIGHT SCREWDRIVER: A tool for opening paint cans. Sometimes used
to convert common slotted screws into non-removable screws and
butchering your palms.

PRY BAR: A tool used to crumple the metal surrounding that clip or
bracket you needed to remove in order to replace a 50 cent part.

HOSE CUTTER: A tool used to make hoses too short.

HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

UTILITY KNIFE: Used to open and slice through the contents of
cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on contents such as seats, vinyl records, liquids in plastic bottles, collector magazines, refund checks, and rubber or plastic parts. Especially useful for slicing work clothes, but only while in use.

DAMN-IT TOOL: Any handy tool that you grab and throw across the garage
while yelling 'DAMM-IT' at the top of your lungs. It is also, most often, the next tool that you will need.

Yup

Clients of late have been interesting

One she has a pretty decent scoliosis happening, her spine take a right turn just above the lumbars.
Quite an interesting spine to work , enjoying it actually because the effects of my work are immediately apparent.

The other is a long time client who unfortunately has had a mastectomy. Loosened her chest wall up, worked the scar down and gave a her arm an increased range of motion on the affected side.
Tell you right now, not a big fan of doing work like that but it helps her soI suck up my discomfort
and do the job well.

The music I am listening to lately

Fisher's Hornpipe - Mike Marshall & Chris Thile

Evan J. Marshall, Solo Mandolin: my Caprice # 1

Check out this cool little mandolin

Odeon - Mike Marshall

Homer & Jethro - The Battle of Kookamonga

That last one is really old school from a gentler time

And here is a nice acapella piece
, Ricky Skaggs is getting quite round.

Top 10 Signs You’re a Fundamentalist Christ

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.
