This comes fron the literature of the Alpha course, you see the billboards around and on the sides of busses, it is simply a recruting deal for christianity.
fine believe what you want but I assure you they cannot tell you where you came from and where you are going. They most certainly cannot tell you why you are here. Unfortunatley the answer is too simple and not mystical enough for the animal called human.
Your purpose is simple, survive long enough to recreate and take care of the young till they can survive on thier own to do the same.
That is it, everything else is secondary.
You want to befriend invisble "omnipotent beings" that never show that they exist you go right ahead. I personally like to have relationships with people that talk back.

I'm i'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just curious about the secondary stuff.
the secondary stuff is exactly that, there is precious few things we "need " to do today to survive so of course our minds tell us that there is all these issues that make us tick and if this or that does not happen the world will end. We complicate our lives because we have big brains which helped us survive against predators but sometimes does us no favours when we are not trying to survive.
There's something I want to add but I'm not able to get around my chemo-brain to phrase it, so I'll be back.
